Wilton , NH – PEP Direct’s entry into Fundraising Success’ 1st
Annual Gold Awards was chosen as the inaugural winner of their “Package of the
Year”. The package, Paralyzed Veterans of America’s (PVA) Spring
All-Occasion Card Package, was recognized for its vivid colors and upscale,
embellished look. The entry became a finalist for the prize by winning the

In addition to 10 spring-themed greeting cards, a sheet of
gold foil on-white address labels, and a business reply envelope, the effort
includes a 4-page brochure on the story of PVA, a buck slip with PVA’s mission
and goals, and a double-sided notecard with a “message of hope” that donors can
sign and send to veterans.
The package was also acclaimed for its appeal to its donors
based on its exceptional response. With a response rate better than 26
percent, this piece certainly grabbed the attention of its target audience: high
frequency, long-standing and loyal PVA donors.
“Our goal is to continue to mail a successful card package
while keeping it fresh and attractive,” says Megan Gibeau, VP of Strategic and
Client Services at PEP Direct. “We review the prior two years of packages along
with their results, donor comment mail and survey information collected to
formulate a basis for art selection. Our team works very hard to strike a
balance of winning thematic graphics from the years before with subtle
differences to make the package unique each year.”
Packages were judged using a point system in each of the
following categories: Results, Revenue, Copywriting and Creative. The
judges were made up of a committee of direct mail authorities.
